DORBA Frisco Grand Opening - page preview
Ride Frisco — Frisco First Ride, Northwest Community Park
Grand opening · Saturday, September 19, 2026 · 8:00 AM
Be first
on the dirt.

Frisco just made the biggest investment in a bike park DFW has ever seen, and on opening morning the first tires on it are yours. Brand-new singletrack, a skills park, a pump track and a gravity drop tower you ride down from. Riding is free for all ages but you must register ahead: there is no sign-up on the day.

Spots limited · Registered riders only until 10:00 AM

First look

This is what you are signing up for.

Fresh dirt, new berms, and a tower you can see from the parking lot. Nobody outside the build crew has ridden it yet.

Closed until opening day
The park is an active construction site and strictly off limits until 8:00 AM on September 19. Anyone inside before then without permission is trespassing. Please do not go looking for it early: it puts you at risk and puts DORBA's access at risk.
Photos taken mid-August 2026 while the park was still under construction. City of Frisco / Play Frisco and DORBA volunteers.
How it'll work

One ribbon. Two swarms. Fresh dirt.

Everyone gathers at the entrance pavilion for the opening ceremony. Then the bikes roll out in two swarms, 100 riders each. Pre-registration mandatory.

Limited spots, pre-registration only, no walk-ups. Every rider is assigned to Swarm 1 or Swarm 2 automatically; you cannot pick your swarm.
!
Trail access on Sep 19
8:30 to 10:00 AM: registered riders only.
10:00 AM onward: open to everyone.

The Cupcake Cup

A balance-bike race for the smallest riders in the family. Short, flat, taped-off course. No pedals, no pressure, every finisher gets a cupcake. Parents stand on the sideline and film.

Know before you go

The short list

Parking
Park at Lone Star High School (2450 Panther Creek Pkwy) and walk or roll over. The park entrance is right next door. Expect a crowd; carpool if you can.
Helmets and waivers
DORBA mandates helmets: every rider, every age, no exceptions, or you do not roll. The City of Frisco waiver is part of sign-up, so do it online and skip the line at check-in.
Bring
Water, sunscreen, a tube, and cash or card for the food trucks. It is September in Texas; the shade is still growing in.
Trail etiquette
Follow the signs posted. Bikes stay on the bike-only trail, feet stay on the hike-and-bike. The loops are not fully mapped on Trailforks yet, so trust the signs and the DORBA lead riders, not your phone.
The tower
DORBA volunteers are staffing it all morning. It is steeper than it looks: ride within your limits. Kids may ride it only with a parent alongside, and nobody goes down the drop without a bike.
